The RTC is a community service organisation, located at 45 Lyons Street, Newstead. This was the former Newstead Shire Office building,and has been made available to our community (by Mount Alexander Shire Council) on a "peppercorn", long-term lease.
We opened our doors in 2004 and have been servicing the Newstead and District with the support of local volunteers with the following services/facilities available five days a week from 9.00am-5.00pm.
We provide-
* Bendigo Bank Agency (with full banking services)
* Community Library
* Op Shop
* Community Bus Service and Charters
* Playgroup
* Internet cafe
* free wireless internet hotspot
* Centrelink Access Point (send all your forms and make phone calls)
* Pocket art gallery
* Photocopying, printing and laminating
* Local products for Sale
* LocalTourist Information
* Meeting rooms
* Playground Facilities for Pre-School age children
* Booking services for Newstead Community Centre , Racecourse, Newstead LIve
* Ironing service
* Appointments can be made with Local Councillor MIchael Redden every Thursday
Our Current Office Bearers for 2012-2013 are Suzan Redlande (President) Michael Redden (Vice President) Gayle Ashton (Treasurer ) Marj Drury(Secretary) Jenny Lacey (Committee Member)
