Newstead Junior Football Club

"Go Steaders" was the call on Thursday the 18th of March, which saw the start of the Newstead Junior Football season with a great turnout of boys and girls to the registration and first night of training.  The Football Club Committee were thrilled to see so many new recruits for the forth coming 2010 season across all age ranges.

This year Terry Chapman is taking the helm with an eager bunch of under 10.5's and we wish them all the best for the season.

After a successful season umpiring in 2009, Cameron Hepburn has stepped up to the plate to coach the U13's under the mentorship of Steve Richardson. The U13's look to be a force to be reckoned with in 2010 and we will be watching with anticipation.

Tom Reece has again come back to take on an enthusiastic group of U15's having coached some of them as under 13's in 2008.  Tom will be assisted by Bernie Monaghan.

The committee applauds and would like to acknowledge these young members like Cameron and Tom who have offered their skills and time to give something back to the club. It is this type of commitment that strengthens the bonds with the junior members and builds a strong rapport within the club for a successful and positive future and we are grateful to you.

If you would like to play or know anyone who would, please get in touch with the contacts below.
