Inaugural Newstead Australia Day Market & Fair

The inaugural Newstead Australia Day Market & Fair will be held on Saturday 26 January 2013 on the grounds of the Newstead Primary School in Lyons Street. Come along between 8 am – 2 pm for this fantastic event featuring quality art & craft, local produce stalls, delicious food and refreshments, plus roving musicians from the Newstead Live Music Festival.  


Children and families will delight in the farm animals at the hands-on Hard Hill Farm Animal Nursery, face painting and the children’s art activity zone run by local artist Karen Pierce & Sam Chapman. A highlight will be the busking competition with musicians and entertainers of all ages and talents invited to perform from 11 am for the opportunity to win prizes for their talents. They'll be lots of fantastic stalls, from handmade hats, jewellery and soap, clothing and live chooks. There are also great raffle prizes to be won on the day with major prizes including family tickets to Sovereign Hill, the Otway Fly Experience, Murray River Paddle Steamers, Hepburn Bathhouse and Puffing Billy.
