Camping - please note these are the 2009 details, we expect 2010 will be similar but prices may vary.
There are at least 3 options, and if you are planning to camp we recommend that you make a booking for a campsite, but you don’t need to pay until you arrive at the festival.
The bookings will help us ensure that we are able to accommodate all campers.
OPTION 1: The Newstead Football Oval: In the middle of town, only 3 minutes walk from all festival venues. BUT .. camping restricted to sites no bigger than 6 metres by 6 metres, and vehicles not to move during the festival ... i.e. once you have set up camp your car either stays at the camp throughout the festival, or is parked outside the oval and doesn’t come back in during the festival.
The footy/cricket pavillion has toilets and hot and cold showers.
The Troubadour Venue is also at the oval.
COST: $15 per adult, $30 per couple or family site (6m x 6m) for the weekend.
BOOKINGS: to the place you purchased your festival ticket ... either Newstead RTC ph 54762360
or Andrew Pattison ph 5425 5400
OPTION 2: Newstead Racecourse: 1 Km from town centre. Lots of space and big old shady trees. Vehicles can come and go at all times. More modern showers and toilets than the oval. Big cooking and dishwashing room.
COST: $10 per adult per night. Children free.
BOOKINGS: to the place you purchased your festival ticket.....either Newstead RTC ph 5476 2360

OPTION 3: Welshmans Reef Caravan Park: Well equipped caravan and camping park with kiosk on the shores of Lake Cairn Curran (dry!). Approx. 5 kms. NW of Newstead (off the Maldon road). Pet friendly.
COST: Powered sites $22 per night. Unpowered sites $16 per night. These prices for 2 adults. Children 16 and under $5 each extra per night, under 5 free. Ph to confirm.

Camping? In 2010 the Food Garden (as below) packed vegie boxes to pick up.
"Enjoy Biodynamic and Organic produce at Newstead Live."
The Food Garden will pack a box of fresh organic fruit and salad veggies, saving you the hassle of bringing it on your trip (bring that extra guitar instead!)
Enjoy berries from Yandoit, Maldon cherries, Castlemaine stone fruit, the crispiest salad veg from Ballarat and Gippsland.
Create your own box online, or allow Graham & Bree to make the selection for you.
You can even request biodynamic juice, local sourdough breads, muesli and jams for breakfast.
Great value starting at only $25.
Orders can be placed online at www.foodgarden.com.au or by phone by 20th January, and available for pick up on Thurday or Friday from Newstead Milk Bar.

Performers please note that this festival is booked by invitation rather than application and being a small budget festival there is very little room for acts not already known to us. If you wish to send promotional material to us please do not send anything that needs to be returned. Mail to Andrew Pattison, 89 Coombes Lane, Mia Mia, Vic 3444.
