Open to Suggestions at the RTC

Following on from a staff member's idea, the RTC has now opened a suggestion box so that we can be more responsive to the needs of the wider Newstead community.

We are interested in your thoughts and opinions for developing the services here, so if there is something you think could improve the Centre, come by and drop your ideas in the suggestion box.

Revamped Internet Cafe Up and Running

The first stage of the RTC computer review and replacement program has been successfully completed with the installation of three high speed computers at the RTC.  These can also offer the option of colour printing for the first time.

Newstead & District CFA Working Towards a Safer Community

The Newstead Group Exercise took place on Friday night, September 11. It proved to be a valuable learning experience for the crews, support personnel and town residents.

Newstead Community Centre AGM

The AGM for the Community Centre's Committee of Management was held on 20 August as advertised and all executive positions from the previous committee were elected as ongoing, subject to the Shire Council's approval.  A copy of the annual report and audited financial statement is available on request at the RTC.

RTC to have its own internet revolution

Actually it will be more of an evolution than a revolution, but that doesn't make for such a compelling headline.

We are quite attached to our computers here at the RTC internet cafe, but with six years of solid serfvice behind them, they are getting a little eccentric and starting to show their age.  It's time to revamp this valuable service and with the generous help of local computer expert Dave Hall, we can all look forward to a faster and more efficient experience.
